The Influence Makes The Diference

So students, because the video does not seem to work very well I have gone back to the old form of writing. Actually, that is a lie. I am not really writing as I am using the speech recognition program with vista. You should try it, it is very interesting.

So let us go on with our lesson. We’re looking at Leviticus 7-9. This is not a very easy part of the Bible. If you do not have much interest in the Bible than it can seem quite boring. Thankfully I have a lot of interest in the Bible. Yet the Bible is like anything else in life, if you do not have any interest in it then it will not have any influence in your life. For some of you the Bible is no different than any other book.

If the bible held any interest for you then you would find these readings fascinating. The law was given to God’s people to help them become his people. It was the giving of it that caused these people to become a nation. However if they had no interest in becoming a nation then these laws would have had no value for them.

Allow me to use our present situation as an example. Some of you have very little interest in school. My opinion does not matter very much to you. Your parent’s opinion does not matter very much to you. Many of you are influenced more by your friends then by your family. So when we have a day like yesterday when I am not around then you find it easy to do what you want instead of doing what is expected of you. This is because you do not see value in your schooling. Those of you who see value in your schooling had no problem with doing what was expected of you.

According to the reports I received about yesterday there was a lot of talking in the offices, and playing on the computers, talking, and other assorted problems. This was because I was not there. I am the authority at the school. So it comes down to your heart. If you’re here for your education then your heart tells you to do what is right. But if you are here because your parents say you have to be here than the rules do not matter to you.

But I am not God and god is not me. Where I do not see he sees. Where I am absent he is present. Thankfully where I am vengeful he is forgiving. If God matters to you than his instructions matter to you. If Jesus matters to you then how you live matters to you. If Jesus matters to you then you are more interested in obedience then control. This reading in the Bible is very important as it reveals the Father’s heart to us. It shows us how much he loved these people which also encourages us in that we would understand how much he loves us.

So my students you may think that you got away with yesterday but it does show me your heart. I hope, I pray, that you will allow the Father to touch your heart and reveal this to you. He really is supper. I pray that you will have a wonderful day. God bless.

So much of this Old Testament stuff can seem useless and irrelevant, but we need to remember it's just a shadow. The reality, the full truth is found in Jesus.

Eat the meat from the Peace-Offering of thanksgiving the same day it is offered. Don't leave any of it overnight. (lev 7:15)

becomes...

Do not let the sun go down on your anger (Ephesian 4:26)

But any meat from the sacrifice that is left to the third day must be burned up.If any of the meat from the Peace-Offering is eaten on the third day, the person who has brought it will not be accepted. It won't benefit him a bit - it has become defiled meat. (Leviticus 7:17-18)...

becomes...

He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. (1 John 5:12)

I guess you could say the Bible is the ultimate collaborative novel - many writers, but one authorship.

I agree that thing we do won't work, unless our hearts are set on it, we can make whatever we do work or not work, it's almost impossible to not be able to learn something.

It would be obvious that you were using speech recognition when you wrote this, even if you hadn't told me beforehand. There are misspelled words here and there, no commas where there should be, and capitals missing sometimes. You have to be careful to check your work, since the spell checker becomes useless since all the words it writes are real.

I try to put as much into my education as I can, but that was not always the case. Before I came here, I was shy and unwilling to participate in most activities. However, over the last few years, God has really been working in my life. I have actually started to go to the opposite extreme of working too much. I am looking forward to whatever God has planned for my future!

P.S. Interesting point at the end where you said God is supper.

Wow.... I am so not used to just reading the devotions anymore... it takes a lot less long too... well, for me anyway... actually, I think part of the reason why is because there is a lot less... which makes it a little harder to comment on... I am not really sure what to say about this one other than, you're probably right about influences and interests...

The way that we treat our education truly shows what's in our heart, and what type of relationship we have with God, so i hope that we all treat our education with respect and we learn to appreciate what a blessing itis to be here.
Wens hould also learn that just because our principal is not here we should still behave and do all the work that is expected from us.

Its true that if we dont have an interest in certain things it wouldn't have a full impact on you,but that doesn't me not to do it. Maybe now it won't be of any interest to you but maybe 5-10 years from now it does interest you.(Lets hope its sooner than that)

This is a lot shorter to do. The influence thing you said is probably right. Since the devotions are shorter, I don't really have anything else to comment on.

God is supper? Anyways I try to do my best sometimes. Sometimes I get distracted. But most of the time I try to work. God matters to me. I try to make him glad too.

I put my all in things that I'm interested in. I like certain PACES more than others, so I'll finish them faster. And I think my friends influence me more than my family, but not because their opinion doesn't matter to me.

I think that we have to want something to get it no because we need but also because we feel like it.Most of the time when I do something and I don't want to do it I don't do it right so my parents says ; if you are doing something do it properly (with your heart) are don't do it at all.

It's true, when something interests us, it influences us and or it is easier to do. For example, I'm not particularly fond of Mathematics, and therefore, I do not do very well in it. But, the thing is, I want to do my work, I just find a great deal of it not very interesting, on top of that, a great deal of it is difficult, so put to two and two together, and you got failure. :(
